The Northern Fiddler, published in 1979, is a unique compilation of music, photos, illustrations and interviews of Donegal and Tyrone musicians of the calibre of John Doherty, John Loughran and Con Cassidy.
The legacy of the book is explored in An Fhidil Bheo: Ceol an Northern Fiddler through performance and discussion from leading fiddle players Maurice Bradley, Ellie Níc Fhionnghaile, Dónal McCague, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Maggie Maguire, Laura Kerr, Dermy Diamond, Conor Caldwell, Sinéad McKenna, Paddy Glackin, Roisín McGrory and Dermot McLaughlin.
