Michael Davitt: Radacach
Michael Davitt: Radacach is an overview of Michael Davitt’s extraordinary political life as a revolutionary, a land and social activist, and a progressive who was ahead of his time on many social and political issues. He was someone who was constantly on the side of the poor and downtrodden, in Ireland, in Britain, and further afield, and he played a huge part in forging the social and economic changes that facilitated cultural and political revolutions in Ireland at the turn of the 20th century.
The timeless lesson of Davitt’s work is that poverty and inequality are moral questions that have to be resolved by those in power – primarily that the needs of the majority have to be considered over those of a privileged minority.
The legacy of Davitt is that society can only begin to prosper when these issues of poverty and inequality are fully addressed.
